Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!!
I hope everyone is having a great start to the week!
I have been getting behind on blogging lately.
This past week/weekend was jam packed! I figured I would do a weekend recap, so here it goes....

{FRIDAY}
I worked a long day of 8-6 (I am beginning to HATE Fridays). It is also dark when I get off now and I am not liking it. After getting home and freshening up we headed out to eat with a friends of ours at my all time favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Los Compadres is one of the BEST in town!

We had a great time catching up with these two...

After dinner we headed back to our house for a nice bonfire and drinks. My friend Gena Lynn also came over. We had such a good time, but I had to be up early the next morning so I hit the sack around 12!

{SATURDAY}

I was asked by a lady and her husband, that I have come to know through my job, to help clean this weekend. They do a annual clean on all of their offices. We started at 9:00am and got done around 1:00pm. I was SO ready to leave and crawl into my warm bed and take a nice loooong nap, BUUUTT I had other things to do.

My grandparents are not capable of doing much around their house so every year for either their birthday's or Christmas we usually re-do a room in their house for them. This year we tackled my step grandads bedroom! They had most of it covered when I got there about 1:30 to help, but they still had to finish painting and do some finishing touches on his room. I have to say it's going to look GREAT! I hope he enjoys it. After leaving there I went straight home to get ready for a wedding shower for our dear friends Dustin and Margo. Everything was so beautiful, they had a fall theme and everything was so perfect...we enjoyed a low country boil and they even had margaritas that we thoroughly enjoyed. After the shower we headed back to our house to have another bonfire and beer! What a great night we had, we have several friends over and just had a down right good time!

{SUNDAY}

Again, I had to help clean another office and it took us until 1 to finish. I'm not complaining because I really needed the extra money. After finishing up there I headed home and cuddled up with Eric and Emmie on the couch for the rest of the afternoon. That night we headed over to our neighbors house for supper. We usually eat at each others house about twice a week. We just take turns cooking. It's neat because we get to try different things and we like to just get out of the house sometimes or have people over. This week I believe I am making chicken and dumplings in my crock pot. I will post the recipe sometime soon for it. It's delish! Anyways...after supper we came home and headed straight to bed. we had a busy weekend and I was POOPED!

I hope every one had a great weekend and has a great week ahead. Eric's birthday is this week so we will be celebrating on Wednesday night with supper and drinks! He turns the BIG 28 !!

What I'm Loving Wednesday...

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today I'm linking up with Jamie for WILW.

I'm Loving...that we have a short work week. We are already off every Thursday, so since Veteran's Day falls on Thursday this year we will be honoring it Saturday. I will still be working with a lady and her husband to make some extra money. They have a cleaning business, so I'll be helping them clean.

I'm Loving...that we get to wear jeans again on Friday!

I'm Loving...the weather! It has been fabulous this past weekend and this week!

I'm Loving...that we are having friends over tonight to grill and have a few alcoholic beverages :)!

(mixed with Dr. Pepper, LOVE IT)

I'm Loving...that I got all of my stuff together for my application for school. I should hear something within a few weeks, if I am accepted or not! Whoo Hoo!! I'm so excited!

I'm Loving...that we have another busy weekend. Although I do like sitting at home and doing nothing sometimes. We are going to watch the Ga/Auburn game at a friends then we will leave there to head to a wedding shower and probably back to the first stop! haha!

I'm Loving...that we have about 3 weeks until we head to the Great Smoky Mountains!! We finally decided on a cabin last night and I will be calling to book it today. We ended up with 8 people going, but the more the merrier. Right? :)!

(actual cabin we are staying in, we couldn't be more excited!)

I'm Loving...my sweet Emmie Lou. She has been so funny lately. She goes to bed playing and wakes up ready to play some more. She also just stares at us while we get ready. She was use to Eric laying in the bed with his until about 9:30 and just me having to get up, but now we both have been getting up and she is a little confused.

And as always, I'm Loving...this amazing man..

He is so good to me and sometimes I wonder why, but it's nice to know how much someone loves you everyday.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Weekend Recap..

I hope everyone is having a great week.
I'm trying to catch up on the blogging world. We were so busy this past weekend that I didn't have time to do anything, not even clean my house! *gasp* haha!

{Friday}
After working all day, the longest day of the week for me, I got home and changed clothes so Eric and I could go to a movie. We went to see Due Date and it was such a good movie, we laughed the entire time! I definatly recommend everyone to go watch it! After that we went to a friend of Eric's house to play corn hole. It's pretty much a bean bag game where you try to ring the hole from about 20 ft away.

After leaving there, this is when we found the kitten, I told the story about it HERE, after all the excitement, we got home and went straight to bed. We both had a full fun day ahead of us.

{Saturday}
After working till 12:00 I headed out to the 3rd Annual Josh Ray Flag Football Tournament. It's in remembrance of a guy that went to school with us and who dated one of my friends. He passed away in a car accident about 3 years ago. All the money is to go to a scholarship in his name. Eric was playing on one of the many teams in the tournament and they actually ended up winning! I was so proud! He was the one that scored the ONLY touchdown in the last game. Way to go baby!!! He is still talking about it. It was so cold outside, the wind made it worse. By 8:00 at the championship game we were all bundled up with coats, hoodies, blankets and scarves! We survived and took home the trophy! After going home and showering we headed out to Josh's dads house. He has a great set up out there for a get together with friends & family. His dad plays in a band called Crossroadz, they are great! They played while everyone enjoyed a pig roast. We had a great time seeing everyone and celebrating the guys BIG win! After leaving there we headed back home, and then leaving almost as soon as we got home to head to the Waffle House, the boys were hungry, and I was too since I hadn't ate since lunch time that day! After eating it was time to hit the sack and turn the time back an hour...hoping to get a extra hour of sleep.

(the winning team-Good job guys!)

{Sunday}

5:30am I'm UP!! What in the world!!!! Of course I went back to sleep, but I hate waking up that early. After getting a few more hours of rest I headed to my parents to help them with somethings around the house. We then got ready and headed for a late afternoon lunch with my mothers side of the family for my grandma & step-grandfathers birthdays. Their birthdays are only 1 day apart. We then headed back to their house for cake and coffee. We had a great time with them and hated to leave, but Eric's aunt needed us to help her do inventory at her store since she will be leasing it out soon. We were there for three hours before heading home. I was SO ready to get in my warm bed with my puppy and Eric! I slept like a baby Sunday night.

(Ed & I)

{Monday}
I worked till 4:00, unfortunately, then headed home to pick up some pecans out in our yard. We have about 8 trees FULL of pecans! We are hoping to make a few dollars this year off of them. When Eric got home we headed to his moms to look at a few cabins that I found for us to stay in when we go to the mountains in about 3 weeks. We decided on a couple and hope to make a final decision this week. We then headed to the mall to find Eric some jeans for his birthday(the 17th). He found 4 pair that looked great on him! His mom got all of them for him! She also bought me some stuff at Bath & Body Works. She bought me some refills for my Wallflower plug-ins and some lotion.

Secret Wonderland Single Wallflowers® Refill - Slatkin & Co. - Bath & Body Works

Secret Wonderland Wallflower refill-smells amazing!!

Forever Sunshine Body Lotion - Signature Collection - Bath & Body Works
Forever Sunshine Lotion-I love this smell

After we shopped we headed home with Zaxbys. We should have eaten at home since Eric got his deer, that he shot a few weeks ago, back from the processor. 35 packs of hamburger meat! That's A LOT!

I will leave y'all with this funny picture of my sweet Emmie. Every time you sit down in our house with a pair of socks on, they get taken off....

(FYI-those are NOT holes on the top of my sock it's a design that is stretched out since she is tugging on it)

(she just doesn't like for you to wear socks in the house)

Well this post is long enough already so I will leave it at that.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

My Heart Is Broken...

Good morning to everyone!

Last night started off great. Me & Eric went on a date night to see Due Date. We loved the movie and never stopped laughing. After that we went over to one of his friends house where they were having a fire and just hanging out. This is where it gets interesting...as we were leaving his friends, there was a car in the middle of the road and a lady was asking us "is this y'alls kitten?". We quickly came running over to it. It was in the ditch and meowing. This kitten couldn't be more than a few weeks old. It was TINY!!! We took it and wrapped it up. As I was dropping a friend off at her car I was holding the kitten in my lap and all of a sudden it crawls(FAST)down my leg and in the floor board of my car and continues to crawl up into my dashboard. We searched for the kitten for at least 30 minutes before we had to leave since it was already almost 12am and I had to work today. We got home and looked again to just make sure it had not fallen down some where we could get it to. Nope, no kitten. I went to bed with my heart hurting and couldn't stop thinking about this poor kitten who was probably freezing in my car, if it was still alive. :(

So this morning I go to open my car door and all I see is a white and gray kitten laying in my floorboard all curled up. At first I didn't think it was alive and I started to freak out. I grabbed it and at the very second I did,  it meowed. :)!!! YAY it is alive!!! Thank God! I ran inside and got Eric out of the bed(he was awake, but watching T.V). We tried to feed it with some warmed up milk, but it wasn't budging. At this point I'm already running late to get to work and I'm trying to figure out what to do with this poor kitten. Snice he was leaving in a few hours as well. Thankfully, it's the first Saturday of the month and that is the ONLY Saturday that our local animal shelter is open. So after deciding that was the best place for it, Eric got dressed, and took the kitten to the shelter. As bad as I wanted to keep it, there was no way I could have nursed it back to health. Eric said the lady at the shelter said it would live, it was just really cold and needed to eat. AHHH...Thank you !!! My heart still hurts thinking about it having to sleep in my cold car when it could have slept in my warm bed if we were able to find it last night. I am just thankful it came out and we were able to take it some place that they can help it.

So I made it to work on time and I'm already counting down the hours until I get to leave. Eric is playing in a flag football tournament that benifits the Josh Ray Scholarship Fund today at 10:00am. Josh is a guy that I went to school with that passed away 4 years ago in a car accident along with another one of our classmates. They are truly missed, but I'm glad that we can remember him today by doing something that he loved doing, playing football. Tonight his dad is having a huge pig roast and his band Crossroadz are playing at his house. We went last year and had a great time. I hope we can go back again. Although it's going to be FREEZING tonight, I'm looking forward to it!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Yard Sale Finds...

About 3 weeks ago my family had a yard sale at my grandparents house. We have it there since it's closer to town and on a busy road. I had a trailer full of stuff that needed to be sold. Me & Eric tried to have one, and we sold a lot, but we still had a lot left. So since I work on Saturday's I gave my mom all my stuff and asked her to go out there and try to see what she could sell. So...after I get off I head out to my grandparents house and hoping to see that I made some moula!! That wasn't the case. Whereas my mom DID sell almost all of my stuff, she also bought every one's things for me! I'm not complaining at all, I needed this stuff...well maybe not NEED, but I really wanted it. haha! She got me several things for my kitchen which included 3 wall signs that match my cafe theme. She also got me a lot of Fall & Christmas decor. I LOVE it all!! Here are a few pictures of the thanksgiving things that I have out right now...

I thought I would just share these great finds with y'all! I can't wait until Christmas so I can show y'all all the great things I got as well!

HAVE A GREAT THURSDAY!!

What I Make...

I'm linking up with Kelly at Kelly's Korner for...

SHOW US YOUR LIFE...WHAT DO YOU MAKE??

A few years back I was trying to decide on more personal gifts for Christmas. Something that my family could have for a long time. I came across some plates that had family figures with their names on them. They were adorable, but kind of pricey. So I went to a local boutique where I knew a lady who painted there and asked her if she mind trying to paint me a couple for my family as gifts for Christmas. She said yes! They turned out great and everyone has them displayed in their home all year round. I thought about it and said "HEY! They can't be that hard to make". So what did I do? I went out and bought the supplies and a plate and painted away. I have only sold a few, but I mostly do them for wedding gifts. I also have painted a few canvas boards for small children. I would love to have a booth somewhere at one of our local boutiques, but they all want too much to display them. As I said in my last post, I would LOVE to make more of these. Christmas will be here before we know it so if ANYONE would like me to paint them a plate I'd be more than thrilled. Here are a few of my designs I've done.
BTW-Each plate comes with a easel.

I hope everyone enjoys reading about what I make, I can't wait to read about every ones hobbies! :)
